Ad hoc Announcement pursuant to Art. 53 Listing Rules of SIX Swiss Exchange

ZURICH, SWITZERLAND – ABB has appointed Morten Wierod as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective August 1, 2024. He will replace Björn Rosengren, who will step down on July 31, 2024, and retire on December 31, 2024.

From August 1, 2024, until the end of the year, Björn Rosengren will provide guidance and support to Morten Wierod and the Executive Committee to ensure a smooth leadership transition.

Morten Wierod, a 52-year-old Norwegian national, has been selected following an extensive selection process.

He has been with ABB since 1998 and joined the Executive Committee in 2019. He currently serves as the President of the Electrification Business Area and previously led the Motion Business Area. Wierod holds a Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology.
