The talk – formally titled, “Morley Piper: Memories of D-Day” – will focus on Piper’s experience storming Omaha Beach as a 19-year-old second lieutenant in the 29th Infantry Division. The date marks the 68th anniversary of the battle.

“It’s difficult to describe,” Piper says of participating in the battle. “It’s kind of a heart-stopping experience.

No questions for D-Day soldier; it was that amazing

Most of us didn’t think we’d make it off the beach. Fortunately, we did.”
